What is SusTINable?

SusTINable is not a product or an outcome, it’s a way of working focused on developing well-being for society and achieving long-term success for our business, our partners and our world.

We live in an interconnected world that is more demanding than ever. A world where there is increasing pressure on natural resources.
This world demands ethical and responsible citizens and businesses. Society demands sustainable business models. This is not a trend. It is the only way to operate.

Did you know...?

Bronze (3000-1500 BC)
The first great technological revolution is due to the fusion of tin with copper. It is considered the first alloy in the world and gave rise to the Bronze Age.

Pewter (S.V to S.XV)
It is an alloy between tin, copper, antimony and lead. Very popular in the Middle Age and today it is used in various products. For example, the Oscar statuette is produced with this material.

Tin cans (S. XIX)
Tin has been used for more than a hundred years to prevent corrosion in the popular cans of preserves.

Glass industry (S. XX)
80% of the glass in the world is produced including tin with the float glass method.

Electronic industry (S.XX - XXI)
It is essential for the manufacture of electronic devices, as it enables soft soldering.

The Revolution of green technologies (S. XXI —-)
Tin is an essential mineral in the new wave of green technologies, also known as clean technologies or environmental technologies.

One of the richest cassiterite deposits on the planet is located in South America and is known as the South American Tin Belt. It’s a continuous strip of reserves that extends from the south of Peru to the north of Argentina, with a length of 900 km. Along the entire strip, the most important operation is Minsur’s San Rafael mine, which processes an average of 2900 t of ore daily.
